Dreamweaver & HTML5 - Simple Mobile Instructor Sites!

  • Instructors it is time to move to HTML5 - Your legacy materials will still work!
  • Use Media Queries to Style your instructor web site for smaller screens!
  • Simple layouts might be a single column or a page created using  jQuery Mobile
  • Students are using smart phones and pads to access and receive class and school information
  • Tweet students the address to a vertical menu with Professional Information!
  • Instructors: Try browsing with a smart phone to see what students are experiencing

Announcements for your class...

  • It is easy to create ADA accessible announcements using SnagIt and host them on YouTube. I am recommending moving to SnagIt since longer running video's can be created with SnagIt.
  • Using Acrobat.com and SnagIt instructors can create Multimedia Announcements for the class and host the media on YouTube. Phones and Tablets can render YouTube and this tool is familiar to a wide range of students.
  • Pages can be structured to include a YouTube movie, a section of text, and an assessment link for self study. If you design for a phone for simple announcements that same file will render properly to a tablet.
  • Instructors remember to "Chunk" your class materials. Introduce a concept with Text, a video file and then provide an activity to increase student engagement.
